Church Planting & Strengthening

The Liberti Communion is Family of Churches

Who Plant and Strengthen Churches

The local church, in its full robust expression, is the vehicle through which Jesus is redeeming the world. And planting new churches is the best way to recharge new people in a community with the gospel.

“Dozens of denominational studies have confirmed that the average new church gains most of its new members (60-80%) from the ranks of people who are not attending any worshiping body, while churches over 10-15 years of age gain 80-90% of new members by transferring from other congregations.”

- Tim Keller, Why Plant Churches

But currently in the United States, established churches are closing faster than new churches are being planted.

“In 2019, approximately 3,000 Protestant churches were started in the U.S., but 4,500 Protestant churches closed…”

-Liveway Research 2021

At the same time, among Gen Z and Millennials there is significantly more openness to faith than previous generations.

‘“Undeniably, there is renewed interest in Jesus,” says David Kinnaman, CEO of Barna. “Many people have predicted the growing irrelevance of Christianity, however, this data shows that spiritual trends have a dynamism and can, indeed, change. This is the clearest trend we’ve seen in more than a decade pointing to spiritual renewal - and it’s the first time Barna has recorded such a spiritual interest being led by younger generations.”’

- New Research : Belief in Jesus Rises, Fueled by Younger Adults

The need is high. And the mission is too overwhelming to pursue on our own. Isolation in both relationships and incision endangers the health and stifles the potential of local churches. Leaders burn out and turn over. Churches become inwardly focused and ineffective.

The Liberti Communion is committed to planting and strengthening local churches. We invest in the flourishing of both established churches and church plants through assessments, coaching, training, and cohort to support local churches and their leaders for the long haul.

You can help reach new communities and advance the mission of Jesus’ Church!

Church Planting & Strengthening : How We Do It

  • Cohorts & Retreat

Built for peer-to-peer accountability and vulnerability; because, unless you have both, you cannot truly experience the benefits of either.

Cohorts bring together pastors who are experiencing the same burdens and blessings of vocational ministry for mutual encouragement.

  • Shared Resources & Equipping

We regularly invest in joint trainings across our churches and we house our resources, trainings, and experience in a shared library so that our churches are able to access them and share them with their local leaders whenever they need them.

  • Worship & Liturgy Resourcing

From training worship leaders, to assisting in staffing worship teams, to developing biblically anchored liturgies that are contextualized to the local church, we invest in the elements necessary to leading the people in worship on Sunday morning and beyond.

  • Church Leader Coaching

Church planters are paired up with a trained coach for personal, relational, missional, and spiritual guidance through the planting process.

Testimonials

  • Tedd Jordan

We began our journey with the Liberti Communion about 4 years ago. Having come through a difficult ministry season followed by COVID, we considered closing our doors, merging with another church, or joining a denomination. In the end we chose to apply for membership with the Liberti Communion because, in the hard times the leaders move closer not further away. As a member church you gain a voice and a vote, giving you a seat at the table. Personally, the fellowship connection have been one of the greatest blessings to me as a pastor. Neither you nor your church will be alone!"

Within the Communion my wife and I found the community we had been searching for: a people who recognized and prioritized the reality of being in the family of God. Now with Liberti Bristol, it’s our turn to share the good news of that reality."
